Seattle area construction look ahead

The Seattle Department of Transportation's weekly transportation construction update highlights the projects and events that may impact travel through the Seattle area. View this week's update.

This week's highlights:

  • All special events, sporting events, and concerts have been canceled, postponed, or rescheduled until further notice due to novel coronavirus concerns, per Governor Jay Inslee's Emergency Declaration.
  • March 23 - TBD: The West Seattle High-Rise Bridge is closed until further notice.
  • March 28: 1st Ave closed between Spring St. and Madison St. for a crane. 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • March 30 - April 10: S Main St. closed eastbound from 1st Ave S. to Occidental Ave S. to remove the trolley platform. 24/7.
  • April 1 - 10: Lane reductions on Madison St. between Terry Ave and Minor Ave for utility work. Monday - Friday nightly 7 p.m. - 6 a.m., Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • April 6 - May 4: S King St. closed westbound from 1st Ave S to Alaskan Way S for a water main installation. 24/7.
  • April 10: Full southbound closure of the SR99 Tunnel for monthly maintenance. Friday 10 p.m. - Saturday 8 a.m.
