Seattle area construction look ahead
The Seattle Department of Transportation's weekly transportation construction update highlights the projects and events that may impact travel through the Seattle area. View this week's update.
This week's highlights:
- January 15 - 18: 23rd & E. Madison St. intersection closed for underground utility work.
- January 18: Sidewalk on the east side of the Aurora Bridge closed through September for painting project.
- January 18: Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day march and rally from Garfield High School to the Federal Building.
- January 18: 24/7 lane closures begin on Aurora Ave. N. between the Aurora Bridge and Highland Dr. during installation of foundations for overhead signs; work is expected to take approximately 7 weeks.
- January 22- 25: Westbound I-90 closed between Bellevue and Seattle; westbound traffic will be diverted to the express lanes.
- January 22 - 25: Aurora Ave. N. reduced to one lane in each direction between the Aurora Bridge and Highland Dr.
